Documentation
How to use 3mote, written for the people doing the work. More sections land as features ship.
The documentation is published in English only for now.
Getting started
- Getting started What a 3mote workspace is, how to sign in, and a tour of the sidebar and top bar so you know where everything lives.
- Signing in Sign in with your password or with Google or Apple, choose a workspace, reset a forgotten password, and sign out.
- Accepting an invite Use your invitation email to set a password and sign in to a 3mote workspace for the first time.
- Your profile Set your name, title, phone, timezone and photo, and choose your theme, language and first day of the week.
- Notifications Read and clear the notifications bell, jump straight to what a notification is about, and turn browser notifications on or off.
Boards
- Boards How 3mote boards work — the master board at your workspace home, per-project boards, the five default columns, and switching between them.
- Cards The four kinds of 3mote card — task, ticket, event, and announcement — what each one carries, and how the date-driven kinds behave.
- Creating and moving cards Create cards from the sidebar or a column, drag them with mouse or keyboard, clone them, and set up recurring work.
- Card details The card detail view — description editor, comments and reactions, attachments, labels, people, priority, timer, and the Notes tab.
- Finding cards Views, filters, search, list view, and why finished cards stop showing on the board without ever being deleted.
Chat
- Messages Send direct messages and channel messages, format with rich text, mention teammates, reference cards, react with emoji, and manage channels.
- Links and attachments Share links with automatic previews, attach files by button, drag-and-drop or paste, view images in the lightbox, and insert emoji.
- Search and threads Search inside a conversation, keep side-conversations in threads, mute a noisy room, and understand how read state clears.
Wiki
- Wiki Organize your workspace knowledge as pages, folders, and uploaded files — create, rename, move, duplicate, favorite, and delete from the wiki rail.
- Writing pages Write wiki pages with the toolbar and the slash menu — callouts, tables, action items, page links, mentions, work-item references, and dropped files.
- Drafts and publishing How wiki drafts save as you type, what Save Draft and Publish each do, how to recover unsaved work, and how version history and edit locks work.
- Sharing and access Control who can open and edit a wiki page — workspace-wide access, Restricted pages, folder inheritance, and Viewer, Editor and Owner grants.
- Comments and activity Comment on a passage or on a whole page, reply and resolve threads, react with emoji, and read the activity record of edits, publishes and shares.
- Search and action items Find wiki pages by title or page content with the command palette, tick action items while reading, and open, download or delete uploaded files.
Time tracking
- Time tracking Track time against cards with a one-click timer, review it on your timesheet, and submit it for approval.
- Your timesheet Review and edit your tracked time in Day or Week view, add entries by hand, and set your timesheet preferences.
- Submitting and approvals Submit your tracked days for review, see what locks when you do, and approve or reject your team's timesheets.
Workspace settings
- Workspace settings What lives under Settings, which tabs each role can open, and where project-level settings live instead.
- My organization Set your organization name, logo, website and billing email, watch storage usage, and choose how long Done cards stay on a board.
- Users Invite teammates by email, read the Pending, Active and Deactivated status pills, resend invites, change roles, and deactivate or reactivate accounts.
- Roles and permissions The built-in role ladder from Account Owner down to Guest, what each role can do, and how to create or edit a custom role.
- Teams, clients and guests Group people into teams, track the clients you bill work against, and give external collaborators comment-only guest access.
- Projects Create a project, edit its name, code and client, manage its labels, status columns and members, and archive it when the work is done.
- Plans and storage What Starter, Standard and Premium include, where to read your storage usage, and what happens if your workspace goes over its limit.
