Mobile apps

3mote for iOS and Android signs in to the same workspace as the web app and is built around Chat, so conversations keep moving away from your desk.

Signing in

The sign-in screen takes your Email and Password, and offers Continue with Google; on iOS there is also Continue with Apple. Each signs you in to an account that already exists in your workspace — see Signing in.

There is no workspace address to type on mobile: the app opens your workspace directly and keeps you signed in across launches. Your workspace name, logo, and plan show on the Profile tab.

What the apps cover

The app has two tabs, Chat and Profile.

Chat carries your Direct Messages and Channels lists with unread badges and online dots, and a composer with bold, italic, strikethrough, and inline code. You can @-mention teammates, react with emoji, reply in threads, attach photos and files, create and browse channels, and search a conversation. Archived channels stay readable but are read-only. Profile shows your avatar, name, email, and role, and lets you change your photo and edit your Title, Phone, and Timezone. The gear icon opens Settings and its Theme picker.

Push notifications

The app notifies you about new direct messages, channel messages, and thread replies, and about reactions to your messages. Banners carry a short preview, and a message that mentions you comes through even in a muted conversation.

Tapping a banner opens that conversation at the message. Banners are suppressed while the app is open, and reading a conversation clears its notifications and the app badge.

To change how notifications behave on a device, open that device’s own Settings app and use its notification controls for 3mote. See also Notifications.

Working offline

Conversations and your profile are cached on the device, so the Chat list, recent messages, and the Profile tab still render without a connection. A banner appears while the device is offline. Sending needs a connection; a message that fails stays in place so you can tap to retry.

Available on the web

Boards, Wiki, and Performance are not in the mobile apps — use the web app for Boards, Wiki, time tracking, and workspace settings. A work-item reference such as HARB-12 shows as plain text on mobile, not as a card.

Signing out

Open the Profile tab and tap Sign Out, then confirm. Signing out clears the cached data on that device and stops its push notifications. You will need to sign in again to use 3mote there.
